Denmark at last

Everyone was mostly hesitant about King. I tought King to behave in the car. A lot of people gave me and King food. It was very nice. The scenery was so beautiful I decided to walk a few miles beside a beautiful river. I sat down and let King look around a few days earlier... I bought a stamp and envelope. I sat down on the green grass... and started writing a letter to Carlo. Here`s what it said :







To Carlo. I wakled and I got to Denmark at last. I got there pretty late. There was a building I saw.... a men from one of the camps I think. I hided behind a thin bush. I was scared I was thinking to myself.. It`s too late they`ll bring me back to that camp... I would rathere die! I decided I would run past them. I was getting ready... I decided to pray I was saying ``Dear god... This is all my own fault... All I ask is that King gets to safety and a new home. I am glad I chose you.``



I was getting ready to run.. When King ran infront of the men. I knew I had to run away. I heard skriexhing. I was sobbing.. I ran as fast as I could and I heard a shoot. I jumped in a bush. I felt horrible this was all my fault. I started sobing for the whole night. I started walking more. I was starting to pick up on the launguage. Everyone was kind to me. I went to a pay phone and looked up in the phone book my mom! I found her adress number 758. I asked for a ride. Someone picked me up she was very generous. we got to the the house. I was super nervous. I knocked at the door.... someone opened it... I said in french `` Mon nom est David`` the women answered `` David mon fies!`` It was Awesome... I felt like I was complete. I had a mom. I hope that everyone appreciate that they have parents! I am very happy now!







Carlo, I want you to know i`m no longer so sure your bad. Perhaps you`re only stupide. And so i`ll stop hating you, because I only hate those who are evil. Bit if you ever use force again and I get to know about it, then I shall hate you again. Will you thank your parents for writing the letter in the paper. I saw it. And will you say I`ve written you. Tell your parents and Andrea and the 2 little boys and Maria. Tell Maria first, and tell her I`ve seen a tree full of bloom that`s made me think of her.







I wrote Carlo on the back and the adress and put it in a mail box. I felt so good and free after that. The felling of.... HAPPINESS. I caught a ride, this guy from germany gave me 5 coins. I eventually got to Denmark. It didnt

The Farmer

I got to his farm he let me sleep there in the Barn. He explained to me the next morning.... that if I sleep in the barn and he gives me food I had to work for him during the day. I was being held prisonner again. I am not going to let this men who's just like "Them" ruin everything! It's not fair! Every day I worked and worked. The only thing I had that was a good thing was... King ( Dog) it's like were the same. One day it looked like it was spring. I dug a hole every night. Tell finally I got out one night. King wanted to follow me. I coudnt let him. I said "King you are trust worthy! I cant risk your life Byee byee King!" I went running in the hole. I got out I was free at last. I was running as fast as I could cause I heard a stomping behind me. I sprinteed as fast as I could. It was too late.... Something jumped on me I went flying on the ground. I thought it was the farmer coming after me. I looked back and it was King. I was so happy to see him he started licking my face. I... I love him. I can relate to him. I stated walking towards swiss to find... my MOM! I had a lot of people want to give me lifts so I took their generous offor.

Leaving... Maria

I was walking and walking I knew the town by heart almost at least the first part! It was growing colder and colder at night! I knew soon I would have to take my shoes off. Because it`s getting cold outside and I dont wanna ware out my shoes right before winter! I walked day nad night I passed some towns. They all made me feel uneasy because I miseed the house. I missed Maria. I decided to stay in a town for a night. I went in a bush to sleep for the night. It was cold. I had to deal with it. Who cares right? People are going throught worse. I woke up the next morning. By the way all my moneys gone I spent it all. I was waiting for tourists who needed help. The town was called Florence. I decided to go walk around so that I did..... I saw a church I decided to go in it. I went in. I sat down on a seat. I was being aware of my sourondings. Then outta no where a old man came out. Dressed in a white robe thing. I think it was a priest. They hjad those at the camps. Praying... sadely it didnt help.. it didnt help one bit. For most people anyways. I got lucky that`s all. He started talking to me like asking what my name was and stuff. As you know I dont like being asked questions! He said what are you praying for I replied `` I am praying from the god of the green pastures and still water.`` the priest replied `` There is only 1 god althought there might be a lot of names. There is only 1 god of the world David!`` I replied ``No there isnt`` he were kinda bikkering. I asked the priest to show me a map if where switzerland begins. Past the the town Bologna the countryside was begining to be less beautful. I walked and walked it was getting colder and colder every nght. I had written down on a paper the towns that I must pass to get to Switzerland! I only stopped wakling when I ran short of bread.Eventually it started being freezing out I was getting weaker and weaker.... One niight late... I almost colllapsed. A men who I thought was nice came and helped me he brought me back to his farm.

My Religion

So as I went looking around other places. I decided to sit down for a second when I saw my compass fly in the ocean. I was petrified. I had to get it! It was too late... it sinked to the bottom. I sat down and started thinking about religion. I decided it was time I chose a religion. I sat down and tryied to figure this out. I decided I coudntr be Jew because Yohannes told me so. I dont really wanna be christan.. because their god is a women named Mary... Not that I have something against women. Jpohannes had told me something about anothother guy named David he said the god of... Its been a while since he told me.... Its coming back to me now the god who ``He maketh me to lie down in green pastures, he ledeth me beside the still waters``. That`s it! That`s the god I would chose. Then.. I decided to start praying `` God I pray that THEY wont catch me. Then I can do something in return AMEN``. I dont reakky know why I said Amen cause usually just catholics say amen. If I didnt say Amen then god woundt know when im done my prayer. I felt stronger, and felt a point of living again. I thouht a god would be much better then a compass, althought it woukd be nice to have both right? Anyways..... I countinued walking I could tell by the sun which way I was going. I wanted to end up in north-west. It had been a very good day. For me at least... I decided to take a little rest in the bushes when I heard someone. A men saying `` I have lost my spectacles!`` I was hessitant but.. I took a risk and went to the men and told him `` I can help you find your spectaclec mister`` He said ``well thank-you young men`` I found his spectacles about 2 minutes into the search. I went to the men and gave hm his spectacled and started walking away then the men said ``WAIT! You must take a reward for your troubles`` I replied quickly `` NO``. I really wanted to but.. I wanted the feeling of doing something just to be.. NICE. He said `` I will introduce you to my wife then``. I decided I guess so... He brought me to his car and introduceed me to his wife. She wasnt beautiful like the girls in Italy. But.... She was nice. She said `You must take something for your troubles`` I replied `` NO THANK-YOU``. They kept talking in french.. thinking I coudnt understand them. They offered me a Sandwich as they call it. It was two pieces of bread stuffed with all sorts of things in it. I said ``Yes please`` I ate it.. It was delicious. They kept asking me questions. It ws really irretiable. Finally I said `` I have to go thank-you for everything`` before I left the lady said `` Befire you leave I would like to see you smile`` I replied `` I. I cant smiile`` then I ran off I heard them calling after me but I kept on like I didnt hear them. After I ran for a while I went to find a sleeping place on the sea slope. I drifted to sleep once I found a spot. A few days later I went in a town called Naples. I found a miror. I picked it up slowly... Looked at myself for the first time. I saw.... me. I was quite plain looking very messy curly lonmg hair. My eyes thought... I didnt get what ws the big deal about my eyes. They looked.. Normal to me. I really didnt get what was the big deal. I decided to go back to my sleepig place. For the next few days I kept looking in my miror and practised smiling. I didnt look like the other peoples smiles thought. It was like.. like my smile wasnt pure. On my deffense you coundnt blame me.. I was raised in the worst place on earth. A concentration camp. It brings back horrible memories just thinking of it. I get shivers everywhere too. I countinued walking northwards. I kept thinking to myself that I would stay out for a long while. Plus whats 1 boy from millions of people in the camp. I cant get my hopes up thought.The days grew colder and colder at night. One day I saw this couple and their car... they were arguing. I went closer as I listened I heard they had no petrol left in their car. I went up to them and said " I can gelp you guys" the men seemed interested but the women... I heard said to to men " HE nothing but an old begger" that made my heart sink a little. I had to prove my point. I said " I can go into town and get you some petrol" they finally agreed to it. As I was about to leave I asked the kind men if he could hold my bundle. Before he had time to answer I ran off. I came back with petrol. I said bye, grabbed my bundle and ran off.... I heard them calling after me but I ignored them. That day I decided to go to a church just to loook. I was sitting there when I felt a sha^rp pain in my stomach someone... punched me. He kept going at it. I just stood there. He said something about... stealing. He said `` common boy fight`` I replied ``NO then ill be as stupid and yuseless as you are`I ran off. In the morning I was hungry so I dug in my bundle I went all the way to the bottom. When there it was... 2000 lires with a note in hand writing. I was astonished. The people last night must of snuck it in there. I didnt know wh to spend my money. I decided not to be greedy with it. Johannes always said " Being greedy gets you know where". I decided I was going to use my money for things I neddded like bread. The next day.. I decided that I was only going to buy bread. Then I got to the store and saw a pair of scissors and a comb. I decide I would buy that too. I got home and combed my hair back. I must admit I looked pretty nice with my hair back! I was wanting to try cheese so I tried it. 1 word to describe everything: YUMMMY! I decided I should start heading north so... I walked and walked... I found a little river hidden in bushes. I decided to take a quick bath and wash my clothes. That I did. I saw 3 kids playing. 2 of them were little they were both boys. 1 was a girl who was about 10 years old. She was beautiful her hair swang in the wind like a flower. They were going to play some kind of game in a little shed where they tied her up. I decided it was a perfect time to take a nap. I was sleeping bare. I woke up to the smell of smoke... I got up looked and the little shed was burning down the one the little girl was in. OH NO! I put on m a piece of my clothing on my head wrapped in around tight and went to the shed. Right before I went in I asked the god not to help me I wanted to be pround of somwething on my own. I ran in to the blazzing fire. It was so hot in there. I saw the girl she was tied to the chair. I took my little pocket knife and cut her out. I covered her mouth and said get up. She fainted. I put her on my shoulders as I was getting ready to run throught the fire I took a chance ran throught the fire. We landed outside we were alivve. I looked at the girl she had fire on a stran of her hai I took my hands and got the fire out. I just layed there. I then noticed all her family was there they ran to her and took her. They asked if I was ok when I saw the gvuy at the churchb how was punching me. He said " ohh.... i am sorry! " I replied " Not forgivern"! They took me to their house. I was nervous because I never seen the inside of a house! Once we got there We went inside and it was incredibly beautiful. We ate supper it was delicious. Over those couple of days we did a lot. Well... I learned a lot. I learned that there`s a round thing called a globe and Maria showed me how to get everywhere. The point is I learned A LOT. The kids refused tio take baths I dont understand why? Baths are awesome! I took one I never felt so clean. I dont understand kids! One night I coudnt sleep so I went downstairs. I overheard the mom and dad talking about me. I put my ear to the door trying to be so ever silent! I heard the mom say I have to go because I was teaching their kids too much bad things. Yes there bad but... it`s reality! They said I brought Carlo down too much! I decided I had to leave this place. Althought how much it ached thinkiong about leaving Maria I HAD TOO. I went to get Maria and told her ``Come in the room with me Maria!`` She said ``OK`` we talked and talked I told her I had to leave she was really sad. Before I left she asked `` David??? Can u hold me one last time?`` I replied `` YES MARIA`` We hugged she said ``Good-bye David`` I said `` Good-Bye Maria``. I went in to a twon I met a women who liked painting she invited me to her house she told me a whole bunch. I sleeept there for a few nights. I left after a few days because she told me a story about a boy and son who got killed but I knew better they were sent to a concentartion camp. It sounded like my story..... It was my mom. She gave me the name of the women ``Mom``. had to find her... she was the only thing left!

THE FIELD OF LOVE

Today was a good day, as in good day I mean better then all my other days! I will exlpain to you why.... because as you know I saw a meadow full of flowers, I know there`s love in the world now! It`s a great feeling. It`s a feeling of courageous and Hope. No matter what happens I feel like i`ll never give up! I decided to sit in the meadow for a bit as I was in the meadow I found a yellow redish looking ball so I decided to take it. After that I had to go look for hiding because there is sivalization around this meadow. I went and walked around I saw houses! I`ve never seen houses before. I was Nervous yet amazed. The reason why I was nervous is because I was scared I would get caught by someone. I wasnt going to let 1 person ruin my life! I decided it was time to jog. I was amazed because i`ve never seen houses before. They are so beautiful! I found a little creek. I took out my bar of soap went in the river and started scrubbing away. I NEEDED to geet reed of anything and everything that reminded me of that camp! I had to get red of the smell, the feel of that Disturbing camp. I scrubed tell my arms felt like falling off! After that I had to lie in the sun all day! After that I decided that it was time to hit the road, so off I went. I got to the roads and oddly there were no houses anymore. I did sometihng i've never done before I made a decision, not my legs or brain but me... I made the decision to cross a road and that I did. I felt VERY pround of myself. For once im my life I made the decision! It was a warm and fuzzy feeling. It was starting to become daylight so I decided it was time to find a hiding spot for the day! I looked around a little and there it was the BEST spot in the world! It was like a little cave with 2 walls and a tiny roof. It wasnt big but it would do. Just as I was about to step when I realized the little cave was at bout foot away from the cave if I fell I would fall in the cliff. I had to get to the cave, and fast! I tried and tried then right when I was about to give up Hope I found a plank. I used the plank to get to the little cave. Once I was on the cave I took the plank on my side so NOone could come across. Once I was in the cave I was hungry so I ate a bread and that orange thing I found. It had a peel on it. I took the peel off and I ate the inside it was really good. I tried to eat the peel butn it had a bitter taste to it. Just then I realized I have no hope in living in this world if I dont know anything! For all I know that orange thind coudve been poisinous. I Have no hope in the wrold I dont know anything off what normal people know! I decided that tommorow I would go into town and listen to peoples conversations. I fell asleep thinking of what would happen tommorow. It was the next morning I waited until night time and I went to the town... I crossed the road and went into town. Once I was in town I coudnt look as if I was afraid so I looked around a bit then I saw someone throw a wrapper in the garbage. I went to get it and read it.. well tried to read it. It said something about a lion. Anyways I countinued to walk around and I heard laughter not a frightened laughter but.. a happy one. I was wakling home and I saw a shop where they made bread. It smelt delicious! It made my mouth water. I was just watching then someone came out and asked If I wanted a loaf. At first I didnt say anything then He said I guess u dont want any then I grabbed the loaf of bread and ran away to my little house. I ate half the loaf of bread then fell asleep...I woke up the next morning and did a few things during the day (the usual) then when it grew dark I left for town. It was pretty much the same as yesturday. The men asked if I wanted another loaf of bread so I took it and ran home. The same thing happened pretty much everyday. Got up did the usual routine when it was dark I went to town. Then one day.. I went at dark like usual when I heard the men who gave me bread say " I think that boy is weird the way he looks" I think we should ask him questions next time he comes around. I decided it was time to get away from this town. I was disapointed because it was the only thing i had close to a real life. I went to my cave.. Packed up and headed out. I said GOODBYE to this beautiful town.

Hello Everybody!

My name is David and I was raised in a concentration camp. I am writing about my life because I think people should know what I go throght day by day until now. What I mean by that is that I escaped from that horrible camp! I am wwriting about my life and as you see everyday I will put a new entry. I know a man so terrible I cant even call him by his name! if th men is here ohhh..... I outa!

The Escape!!!

MY COMPASS!

Today was a crazy day! I`ll tell you everything..... It started out when the men said I had half a minute to get out of this horrible camp. He explained to me where to go from there he also told me that when he lite a match that was the signal to run as fast as you can and escape!!! I had to end up in Denmark somehow. I dont trust the men thought. Before he started my half a minute I asked him something. I asked if he could giveme a bar of soap. He gave me a bar of soap. Then the 30 seconds started. I started out by sprinting I could hear all the guards rushing. I was getting horribly scared. I decided once I was at the other if the fence I am just going to give up. So I stated walking away instead of runing. I decided I woudnt give them the satisfaction of just killing me. I would at least die with pride! But before I knew t I was already in the forest. I realized I had escaped and then I still have Hope! I got to the tree where the men said to go. Like he said there was a little package there. I was hessitant to open it. I thought it was a bomb. I decided to take the risk anyhow and OPEN it. So that I did..... there was water, bread, pocket knife and a compass just like he said. There I went off I decided to run. I ran every night tell I got at a small village. I wont telll you all the details some of them are pretty horrible. I ended up at a small village I saw a cab so I decided to sneak in the back! It was pretty scary cause it was crouded and smalll and inclosed. Plus i`ve never been in a vehicle before! So then I decided to ask Youane for help. Everything started to go well from there. I guess he was with me! after that I ended up on a boat I got caught. I was ready to give up. When supringly he helped me. He gave me a loaf of bread and a life vest. The problem is.... I dont know how to swim!!! He kinda taught me how! So I kinda just drifted off to shore. Once I got to shore I saw a mountain so I decided to tie my food up on my belt and climb the mountain. Once I finally got to the top. There was...... Flowers in all sorts of colors. I`ve never seen anything like it! It gave me tears to know that there is still LOVE, hope and a point of living.
